I never thought that this day will be a very memorable one... I already knew that we'll be having an outreach program sa Bahay Kanlungan ( Home for the Aged), that's why I've set my mind not to be so maudlin... Yes, I didn't wanna be too sentimental this day, I wanted to be as hard as stone... Perhaps, it happened for I didn't acted very affected. But the fact that those special peeps touched my heart still remains...

The reason why I didn't wanted to appear too emotional is because I don't want them to feel weak. I want them to be happy, kaya kahit sobrang naiiyak na ako, I've acted like nakikinig lang ako and nakikisakay sa mga sinasabi nila... Masarap silang kausap!

We held a program for them to enjoy... May games, c/o Joy.... Stop Dance... May partners yung bawat lolas... Partner ko si Lola Vicky... Astig! Winners naman kami lahat. And then, nagkaroon ng parang showdown. Nag Otso-otso na lang kami... Haha! Nagkaroon nga pla ako ng impromptu special number na nakalimutan ko pa yung lyrics (panunumpa)... Nakakahiya! Well, naka-bawi naman ako sa, I turn to you ko... Haha

Then after that, turn naman nila to entertain us... Lola Edith Sang PANGAKO SA IYO... Marami pa eh... Someone sang Maalaala mo kaya.. Someone read a poem... Then Lolo Gerry, their songbird sang SILENT NIGHT... and marami pa... So touching!

Then, bonding sessions na... My lola is Lola Racquel, she is an Aeta... Dalaga siya... She always reminds me to study hard for my education will be one of my greatest gifts to my parents... Hayyy... she shared her personal stories... Na touch ako, that's why I gave my necklace to her... Kikay na si Lola... haha!

Another touching scene was when Joy's lola gave a celphone holder to her ( in exchange for the necklace that Joy gave to her...)...

Marami pa! sobrang naiiyak na nga ako... hayyy...

Ang sarap ng pakiramdam kapag nakapagpasaya ka ng mg tao... That was a simple program pero it means so much to them... If I can only visit them everyday... Until now, I really cant get why there are still abandoned persons like them ( although not all of them are..)... But I got the reason why some elderly peeps chose to stay in that place, like Lola Vicky, she chose to stay there rather than to go with her family sa States to serve other old peeps...

Anyway, I hope that we can be able to get back there. I wish we can still have time to visit them, before it's too late... Reality check...

So there, again, It feels great to make people happy, just for a moment...

Five of the biggest news in the country happened this week: The push for Charter-Change, Super Typhoon Reming, the Subic Rape Case Decision, Appointment of the new Chief Justice and the opening of the 2006 Doha Asean Games.

The push for Charter-Change

“Dinuduraan ni JDV ang mukha ng taong bayan. Tinatadyakan ang Saligang Batas, pinapatay ang diwa ng Saligang Batas. Kung may mahalay pa sa salitang bastos wala na akong maisip pa!” Qouting from ABANTE-TONITE, which is a manifestation of what and how the House of Representatives are doing their their best to have our nation to overhaul itself. Two days of marathon session just for one resolution, and they’re doing it again tonight, I’ll not be surprised if a majority of those congressman votes wrongly.

Change is not bad, especially if it aims for good. I’m not against the Parliamentary System - actually, I considered myself a supporter of the Cha-Cha, but after seeing how Congress is forcing the change, and railroading the procedure, I’m now a member of the opposition.Opposition, labor sectors, and activist have always pronounced their outraged attitude against Charter-Change. El Shaddai and C.B.C.P. have reacted so far, in addition to Senate’s brave attempts to stop the Cha-Cha without them.

Actually there are two blocks that the Congress needs to overstep: Supreme Court, and the Filipino People. Good thing though, Supreme Court had already revealed its own claws after it had stopped the People’s Initiative.

Another from inq7: Filipinos are widely opposing this pre-emptive assault of the Majority in the House. A survey was held last November, and 7 out of 10 Filipinos dont want a charter-change. And I would be voting a big NO! when a plebiscite is held in May or November next year.

Anyway, I wonder how things going to turn out.

Super Typhoon Reming

The Congress is talking about Charter-Change when a thousand people have died, another thousand are hurt and another thousand are missing. So what’s the whole crap Congress is making? Evrybody’s question, that is.

Reming is the strongest typhoon that hit the country this year, after Milenyo last October. And another typhoon is expected to arrive in the country. And everybody hoped that it isn’t as strong as Milenyo and Reming.

Again, the Bicol Region is the most davastated. Kawawa naman sila, lagi silang naaapektuhan ng mga kalamidad sa bansa.

The Decision over the Subic Rape Case

GUILTY.

L/CPL Daniel Smith was found guilty of rape of “Nicole”. And his three other comrades have escaped the claws of justice. Anyway, the decision is fair enough.

I hope it severes the US-RP relations. (I’m being an activist here, hahaha!) Seriously, even if the US embassy or the DFA says it will not interfere with the two country’s relations, they’re wrong. Ang lamat ay lamat na, kahit anong gawin nila, hindi nila maibabalik ang kagandahan ng salamin.

Anyway, Smith’s going to get out of the prison when he’s 60.

New Chief Justice

NEW Chief Justice Reynato Puno has rejected claims that the administration gained an ally on the issue of constitutional reforms when President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo appointed him to the post, and said that no one had him figured out at this point. inq7.net

When I woke up this morning, I was surprised to know that we already had a new Chief Justice. And it happened December 7, at exactly 12:00 midnight, habang tulog ang buong bansa.

Sabi nga sa Unang Hirit, lahat ng mahahalagang pangyayari sa panahon ni GMA ay nangyayari sa madaling araw, like yung nanumpa si GMA noong EDSA II, at nung pinasumpa si fmr. CJ Panganiban. Anyway, the point is, nagtratrabaho si GMA hanggang umaga.

Another, I am dissapointed when the JBC didn’t recommend Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago. I’d like her to be the Chief Justice, she’s so damn intellegent.

March is approaching, and so is the graduation. It is every serious student’s goal, to march with the graduation theme, and recieve his/her diploma. And I definetely want that, with or without a medal.

Anyway, after graduation, you are expected to land a job. But not everyone canfind a job, especially if your not in honor’s list. So, this early, I’ve started handing out my resumes and biodata; some would say, I’m too agitated and nagmamarunong, but I just wanted to secure a teaching post, even if its these early.

Yesterday, I’ve made a shortlist of schools that I want to apply, but Ialso have the list of all schools in Parañaque City and Las Piñas City. These schools require personal appearance and a demonstation teaching, which I think, modesty aside, I can pull off easily. What comes to me as the most unpleasant is the interview portion.

I just hope that my applications would return with good results, mind you, I have sent atleast 20 applications already in the net. Most of the job offerings at the job search engines, for the field of education is all about teaching English to Koreans. Well, I would’nt mind teaching them, but for God’s Sake, I hope they know at least some basic words. I’m not expert in english, but I am busy now, having some online discussions at Learn English Forums.

I also had my contacts to forge me some links with schools, like my paternal granmother who has a friend that owns a school. Also, my college professor says she will recommend me to her former employer, who is in dying need for some teachers.

Anyway, if you have any recommendation or knew schools that needs some teachers, I am here!

Gee blogs: 4-day Vacation... Charing!

So, my four day vacation ( 3 actually, 'coz galing ako sa UP last Sat. ) is over... Thanx to the very " unprofessional" and "better-than-milenyo" typhoon... But tinatamad akong pumasok tomorrow! Well, kelan ba ako sinipag? hehe...

Basically, nasa house lang ako... I've read a lot of readings, I've been online ( what's new?), I w/ my online buddy Paolo Miguel made a Site ( online filipino role playing game... ka jologsan lang... haha!), and what else? Actually, I'm worrying about the moderator of the virtual game that I'm currently playing. 3 days ng walang update yung site. Naku! Baka na-apektuhan siya ni Reming. Wag naman sana... Ano pa? Ayun, kumain, kuman and kumain... Hay,,,, bad news nga pal, I've gained another 3 pounds... so 105 lbs na ako! Errr...

Well, last Saturday nga pala, our Org held a Buddy Bidding (astig!) and nagkaroon ako ng buddy sa halagang 50 pesos! Bwahaha! Astig yung buddy ko last sem at siya lang naman ang napakagandang may pinaka mataas na bid... Hay, sayang naman at di ko naging buddy si KoYa ( Veron and Ami, kilala niyo na? hehe...)... Ayun, masaya naman siya, at masaya din mag hanap ng tumatanggap ng order ng INSTANT Pansit sa Bilao... Hehe.. Sana di na maulit iyon...

Actually, that Saturday is a vewi long day... After that event, I went to Jobel's house, binyag ng nephew niya. I thought si April lang yung andun. Wow, Dennis, Patrich, Philipp and JM were there. Naks! Unfortunately, April left early kasi may work pa siya. Awness! Di siya nakasama sa picture picture and never-ending reminiscence... And for that, we've planned our Annual ( yay!) December Reunion ( na sana ay maging complete na kami!). Yes, seryoso kami... I hope Popo's resthouse is available if not, House Party na lang sa House ng tita ni JM... Dibdiban na ito! Haha... Tentative date is December 27... Wowness!

So there... This week will be a very busy one... Hayyyyy...
